Where I work

The Tour—Here’s my Home-Studio!

Here’s how I see most days—behind the sewing machine.  The windows in the background make it easy to get distracted by!

And this is why: the view is amazing (if you look closely, you can see my son’s dog that was visiting)! I'm based out of Wilmington, NC--a fairly older city and one of the main spots where films/TV shows are filmed.  A lot of the Nicolas Sparks movies are based here and it’s home to Dawson's Creek!  Just recently, they filmed part of Iron Man 3 here as well!

Another shot taken from my studio window of my pier.  I'm getting really excited since the weather is warming up!  Most days the waterway is clear so I could take my boat out right after work for a peaceful dinner or sunbathing.

Meet my sewing machine of 30 years (almost part of the family).  We have a love-hate relationship, but she's been with me through a large phase of my life. =]

Another picture with some of the fabric I use—waiting to be cut for pillows and curtains.  I have quite a selection of fabric! I used to have multiple racks (like the one on the end), but when it gets busy, it's too time consuming to take the bolts off and put them back--plus, I get more space sitting them vertically.

Storing my already cut fabric—mostly just extra fabric I use for odd size orders or smaller pillows. You can see the extra pillow cases I've already made to the right.  I love that feeling of getting a work order for a pillow I've already made!

Lastly, one last picture of the pier just outside my studio as the sun goes down.  At the end of the day the most important aspect is appreciating the good days you have and when it's not good, hoping for the best.  Happy humpday!
